Introduction

This is the post excerpt.

In past few weeks, I spent some time thinking & lot of time reading for this blog.
As we wear saree, we know little about the saree’s origin, history, its distinctive features, and more importantly the weaving techniques, various design patterns etc.
I decided to write about various saree types as I read about each type.

India has 29 states and 7 union territories so guessing 50 sarees stretch goal is achievable over a course of year or so. Honestly today, if you ask me how many saree types I know, I may be able to count on my fingers, so this is definitely going to be a BIG leap of learning journey for me.  What motivated me, answer is simple, my grandmother.
It’s her legacy to her granddaughter.

What do you have to do

  • Read my blogs at your convenience.
  • Share your knowledge and any stories you have about the Saree type in each blog.
  • Share your photos or saree photos if you own a saree you read in this blog.
  • Provide any store names where you would have found these sarees. No marketing, just as info that others could benefit from.

First blog will be on Dharwad Saree. Why am I not doing this alphabetically? You guessed it right, I don’t know all saree types, so how would I know which order to go?
